Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! We got to celebrate our first official Holiday in the Byland house, which we were very grateful for.
Well. You know what they say about plans. We had been planning to spend Easter with some of our dearest friends, but with AP being under the weather I think that plan is a no-go. But I went ahead and made silk tie dyed Easter eggs, which I've been wanting to do for a few years.
When we sat down at a table together, for better or worse, we attended the ritual of being family, and somehow this made it so.
Mostly I think of dimly lit Italian restaurants, the smell of garlic hanging like a spirit in the air, and dad ordering Chianti in a weird accent, insisting despite the confusion of the wait staff, that he was pronouncing it authentically.
