After a wonderful whirlwind of a holiday season, we were able to relax for a few beautiful days on lake Huron, in the company of friends and family.

New Year
My memory is of apple trees which hung like willows under the weight of their rich harvest and a horde of bees who relentlessly kamikaze'd our biscuits and apple butter. The Pièce de résistance of the whole affair, though, were these faces.
As I was doing my big new years sort and purge, to my computer files, I came across some of my favorite photos of 2014. I know a lot of these are posted on my Projects/Photography page or alternately on Instagram, but I thought I'd curate my best of here, since it will give me a chance to reflect a bit about them.

I lean my back against it, exhale, and as I do, I finally hear the click of the latch as it slips into the strike plate.
I have closed the door on this year gone by, although a few days late and not without a loose end or two escaping into this new space with me. Nonetheless, it is closed.
